The Perfect 30A Activity — Beyond the Beach

You're staying on 30A for the beach — but what about the other days? An inshore fishing charter on Choctawhatchee Bay is the most popular non-beach activity for 30A vacationers, and for good reason.

The bay is just north of 30A — literally across the highway from your vacation rental. Our departure point in Santa Rosa Beach is 10–15 minutes from Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Seaside, WaterColor, and Grayton Beach.

Unlike offshore fishing, inshore bay fishing is on calm, protected water — no seasickness, no long runs, and action from the moment we leave the dock. Trips run 2–4 hours, so you're back at the beach by lunch.

30A Fishing Charter FAQ

Where do 30A fishing charters depart from?+
Our charters depart from a boat ramp in Santa Rosa Beach, just minutes from the 30A corridor. We're centrally located between Rosemary Beach to the east and Grayton Beach to the west — typically a 10–15 minute drive from most 30A communities.
Is inshore fishing better than offshore fishing for a 30A vacation?+
For most vacationers — especially families and first-timers — inshore fishing is the better choice. You stay on calm bay water (no seasickness), the trips are shorter (2–4 hours), and the action is often non-stop. Choctawhatchee Bay is one of the most productive inshore fisheries in the Florida Panhandle.
What fish can I catch on a 30A fishing charter?+
On Choctawhatchee Bay near 30A, you'll target Redfish (Red Drum), Speckled Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, and Black Drum. In summer, Spanish Mackerel and Pompano are also common. The bay is productive year-round.
How far is the fishing from 30A?+
Our launch point is in Santa Rosa Beach, which sits on the north side of 30A — you're literally crossing the bay when you drive from the beach to the boat ramp. Most 30A vacation rentals are 10–20 minutes from our departure point.
Do you offer fishing charters for large groups from 30A?+
Yes. We can accommodate groups of all sizes. For larger groups (5+ people), we can arrange multiple boats with multiple captains so everyone fishes together. Contact us to discuss your group size and we'll put together a custom package.
