Meet Captain Trey Senterfitt
Captain Trey Senterfitt is the founder and owner of Rising Son Expeditions, a fishing charter built on faith, experience, and a genuine love for helping others enjoy the water.
Trey’s approach to guiding is hands-on and personal. Whether you’re an experienced angler or picking up a rod for the first time, he takes the time to make sure every guest feels comfortable and confident before the first cast. Captain Trey prefers using open-faced spinning rods and reels because of their versatility when presenting live bait or artificial lures.
Arriving just 15 minutes early gives guests a chance to receive a few quick casting tips and demonstrations so they can start the trip with confidence.
His preferred fishing technique centers around live bait, and Trey keeps cast nets ready to gather fresh bait whenever possible. If conditions change or the fish demand something different, he also carries a selection of proven lures that consistently produce results on Choctawhatchee Bay.
More than just putting you on fish, Captain Trey is committed to teaching the techniques that make anglers successful long after the trip ends.
The Vessel
Your adventure takes place aboard a 22-foot Tran Sport Boats catamaran, built in 2013 and designed for both comfort and performance.The boat comfortably accommodates up to six guests, making it perfect for families, friends, or small groups looking to spend quality time on the water.Powered by a 200 HP Suzuki engine, the vessel reaches cruising speeds up to 46 knots, allowing Captain Trey to quickly navigate the productive waters of Choctawhatchee Bay and maximize your time fishing.The catamaran design offers excellent stability, giving anglers a smooth and comfortable experience while casting, fighting fish, or simply enjoying the beauty of the Emerald Coast.
Our Vision
Fishing has always been more than a hobby for Trey—it’s been a calling.After years of dreaming while working as a public servant, Trey made the decision in 2018 to pursue his passion and create something that could positively impact the people he met along the way. Through prayer, determination, and a desire to give back, Rising Son Expeditions, LLC was officially established in 2019.The goal was never to be just another charter service. Trey wanted to create an experience where guests could connect with nature, learn new skills, and leave with lasting memories.
Fishing For a Cause
Giving back is a core part of Rising Son Expeditions.In 2025, Captain Trey launched the initiative “Fishing For a Cause.” Through silent online auctions, raffles, donations, and special charter bookings, Rising Son Expeditions helps raise financial support for organizations making a real difference in people’s lives.
